Steamboat Springs

This weekend, we had the opportunity to spend time with some good friends of ours in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We could not have picked a better weekend to make the drive as the trees are all decked out in their autumn splendor!

This is the view from Brett and Sancy Shaw's house. Right after we got married, we started attending a young couples Bible study and Brett and Sancy also started at the same time. Though they left Laramie when she graduated in 2004, we have stayed in contact with them and they still hold a special place in our hearts. Thier youngest son, Mason, was dedicated this past Sunday to the Lord. He is such a cutie! Their oldest son, Wyatt, turned 3 on Sunday, so it was a special weekend for him too.

These picutes cannot even come close to showing just how brillant the colors were on the aspen trees. The dominant color was a bright yellow, but there were also reds, oranges, and some greens. God sure knows how to make pretty things!

This was a weekend we will never forget! Thank you God for your beautiful landscape that filled our eyes and reminded us of your awesome power and love! Thank you Brett and Sancy for opening your house to us and sharing your lives with us even though we don't get to see each other very often. Some friends will last a lifetime.
