One of my favorite things about Christmas is finding a tree. When I was growing up, we went out and got a cedar tree from our land and while they weren't always the "perfect" tree, what it was really about was family getting together and traipsing around until we found
the tree. We have been able to continue that tradition since moving to Laramie except now, they really are almost perfect trees cuz they come from the mountains. And there is so much more snow up there so it makes for a great sledding opportunity too! Our small group has gone the last few years and this year was no exception. We walked all over those mountains and finally found a great tree (which as also great big and had to be cut down to fit in our little house). Then we had got sandwiches, hot chocolate, Christmas cookies, and various other food. When our tummies were full, some of us embarked on a sledding adventure.
Travis was kind enough to bring his snow machine, and let me tell you, that is the way to sled! Sled down and hitch a ride back up the hill! Well, at least I think it is the way to go, I actually didn't sled, but the boys sure did have fun!
Tyler was so tough and didn't whine at all about getting cold! He liked sledding but still would prefer to go with someone else on the sled as well. Tucker is a crazy dog and will run down the hill after the sled and try to tackle the riders. It is quite comical to watch!
Tyler liked the snow machine as well and pointed out that it matched his yellow coat and hat. He thought he was a pretty big boy up there!
After a long day of fun we came home and set up the tree. Our house smells so good now and we are all thoroughly exhausted (and some of us are sore, sore, sore), but wewouldn't give any of it up for the world!
